Podcast Project

My artistic space consists of canvases of all shapes and sizes, sketchbooks, all sorts of media and found objects. This is where I spend the majority of my time, painting, drawing, writing, woodworking, and making pottery.
Every morning, I grab some coffee and visit my studio to visualize and plan out what I want to do for the day. Some days are more tedious, other days are more hands on and playful. Oftentimes this space allows me to enter a flow state that pushes me to work on a project for hours on end. I laid out my studio to fit my needs and to promote, nurture, and stimulate creative freedom.
My daily practice of artmaking empowers me to build my personal way of communicating through visual expression.
Hopefully this can lead to a more developed process that conveys the true meaning of my work with ease, and find out what it truly means to be an artist.

Reflection:

Picture
My file is about my studio space and artistic process. In the video, I gave a tour of my space, and showed some things that inspire me. I enjoyed filming, recording, and stitching everything together. The process was fairly simple, but time consuming. I ran into issues when I took most of my photos in portrait orientation instead of landscape, and had to either crop the images or lead the eye from top to bottom. I also had difficulty with my mic sensitivity while recording the voiceover as it picked up faint background noise from another room. It was fun to see the video evolve from just a few photos and an audio recording to a cohesive piece of visual media. I enjoyed the process and I think I will be editing more videos in the future.
